Winter’s Solitude

As much as I love technology and gadgets there is something very appealing to getting away from it all now and then. I think sometimes a person needs a bit of isolation to clear out the everyday noise that builds up over time. It also allows a person to really reflect on themselves and their life. That is how my latest artwork came about. I wanted to do another cabin winter scene that played around with the idea of solitude. Kind of a person in tune with nature theme. The solitude I refer to for this piece is aimed basically towards society and modern life. A chance to tune all of that out for a brief moment in time.

There is a nice soft warm glow coming from the cabin windows keeping the cold winter night at bay. There are no interstates, highways, or roads leading to this spot. The only trail is the one you forge yourself with the help of your loyal companions leading the way through the woods. After a long day of trail breaking and a hearty meal as a reward the team is bedded down on piles of hay for the night. Inside a roaring fire in the fireplace warms the cabin and its occupant. The quiet isolation of the surroundings and the night allows for a time to be at one with your thoughts without any other interference. A good opportunity to take time for yourself.
